In the same way as there exist certain motives or factors behind the orientation of poets towards a specific genre of poetry, there are also certain factors involved in the development of this form of poetry. The present article is an effort to investigate such factors within the two classifications of internal and external motives. To begin with, the present study examines the causes of Bash?r’s orientation towards satire in the family and social environments, and mentions such factors as his family’s enslavement, genetic physical deformity, as well as barrenness and incapability of producing offspring, as the major factors contributing to his production of satire. The article continues to compare the personality trait of this poet in terms of the opinions of some experts in psychology and sociology on issues including stress, sensation seeking, inferiority complex, and superiority complex. Keywords: Bash?r ibn Burd, satire, poetic genres, motives of satire, Basra. «فن هجا» از فنون شعری است که به‌طور خودانگیخته یا غیرخودانگیخته، برای آرامش آشفتگی‌های درونی شاعر همراه با رنجش مهجوّ از وجود وی برمی‌خیزد. بدون شک در شکل‌گیری این نوع از شعر، عامل یا عواملی دخالت دارد، همان‌گونه که در جهت‌گیری شاعران به سوی نوع معیّنی از شعر، انگیزه‌ها یا عللی دخیل است. این مقاله تلاش دارد این عوامل را در دو دستة بیرونی و درونی بررسی نماید. در قسمت نخست به بررسی ریشه‌های هجوگرایی بشار در محیط خانواده و اجتماع پرداخته شده، و از بردگی خانوادگی، نقص عضو ژنتیکی، مقطوع‌النسل بودن و اثرات آن در تولید هجا سخن گفته شده است، و در بخش بعدیِ آن به انطباق شخصیّت این شاعر با نقطه‌نظرهای برخی از روانشناسان و‌ جامعه‌شناسان در مباحثی چون اضطراب، هیجان‌خواهی، عقدة حقارت و عقده خودبزرگ‌بینی پرداخته شده است. واژه‌های کلیدی: بشاربن برد، هجا، اغراض شعر، انگیزه‌های هجو، بصره. https://jalit.ut.ac.ir/article_28677_b31ba2ac3ad705f20d895397d560e89c.pdf
