Later, to enhance publications and specialize them, it was divided into five separate journals, allowing each to attract and present articles within its specific specialty. Under the editorship of Gholamabbas Rezaei Haftador and the managing directorship of Dr. Gholamhossein Karimi Dustan, Adab-e Arabi published its first specialized issue in February 2010. It has continued its publication process under subsequent editors to the present day. Dr. Sa'dollah Homayouni is currently the journal's editor-in-chief.

English abstracts are checked using the plagiarism detection software iThenticate (www.ithenticate.com) and Grammarly (www.grammarly.com). If plagiarism is detected in the Persian text or English abstract, the editorial office will immediately reject the submission and place the authors' names on a blacklist for five years. Therefore, all authors are advised to check their full text using plagiarism detection software before submission.
The editorial office immediately rejects submissions that have committed plagiarism or self-plagiarism upon discovery. During the acceptance process, if an article is found to violate plagiarism, copyright, or publishing ethics rules, it will be rejected (before acceptance for publication) and, if already published, may be retracted due to plagiarism.

Retraction Policy

An article's credibility may be retracted if its findings are deemed unreliable due to misconduct or other scientific error, if it has plagiarized previously published work, or if it is found to violate publishing ethics guidelines. An article may be retracted when the integrity of the published work is significantly compromised or undermined due to errors in conducting, analyzing, or reporting the research. Violations of publication or research ethics may also lead to a study's retraction. COPE

This publication, respecting ethics in publishing, follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adheres to the executive bylaw of the law on prevention and dealing with fraud in scientific works.

Informed Consent of Participants

In Adab-e Arabi, all participants in studies and research on human subjects have the right to privacy, which researchers must not violate without their informed consent. Identifying information of participants, such as names, should not be published in written form, photographs, or genealogies unless scientifically essential and the participants (or parents/guardian) have provided written informed consent for publication. Consent forms must be written, recorded, and archived at the journal's office, the researchers' workplace, or both, per national regulations or local laws.

Ethical Compliance and Informed Consent

Adherence to medical ethics principles, anonymization, and maintaining patient confidentiality are essential. The code for the protection of human subjects, derived from the Helsinki Declaration, must be observed, and an ethics committee approval from the university should accompany submitted articles. For studies involving human subjects, informed consent must be obtained from adults and from parents or legal guardians of minors.

Data Citation

Data should be cited like articles, books, and websites, and authors should include data citations in their reference list. Data citation is suitable for data held in institutional, subject-specific, or public repositories. When citing data or data-based claims, authors must reference the data in the relevant text location and provide a formal citation in the reference list. This journal follows the format suggested in the Joint Declaration of Data Citation Principles:
Authors; Year; Dataset Title; Repository or Archive; Version (if any); Persistent Identifier (e.g., DOI).

Data Sharing Policy

Adab-e Arabi employs a basic data sharing policy. The journal is committed to a more open research vision, facilitating reproducibility and verification of data, methodology, reporting standards, and faster, more effective research discovery. The journal encourages authors to cite and share their research data, including but not limited to: raw data, processed data, software data, algorithms, protocols, methods, and materials. Authors are encouraged to share data supporting the results or analyses in their article or make it openly available, provided this does not violate the protection of human subjects or other valid privacy or security concerns.
The journal encourages authors to share data and other artifacts supporting the article's results by archiving them in an appropriate public repository. Authors should include a data availability statement with the address or link to the repository used, which will be published alongside their article. This journal requires authors of original and secondary research articles to (1) deposit unidentified data related to the article in a repository, and (2) include a data availability statement in their article explaining how the data can be accessed.
The journal defines data as the digital materials underlying the results described in the article, including spreadsheets, text files, recorded interviews or transcripts, images, videos, data output from statistical software, and computer code and scripts. Authors are expected to deposit at least the data required to reproduce the results described in the article. Data can be deposited in any repository that makes data publicly available, including institutional repositories, general public repositories (e.g., Figshare, Open Science Framework, Zenodo, Dryad, Harvard Dataverse, OpenICPSR), or subject-specific repositories. The data availability statement should be placed before the references at the end of the main text. This statement should include (1) an indication of the data's location; (2) a unique identifier, such as a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), accession number, or URL; and (3) any instructions for accessing the data, if applicable. During submission, you will be asked if there is a dataset associated with the manuscript. If yes, you will be asked to provide the DOI, pre-registered DOI, link, or other persistent identifiers related to the dataset(s). If you provide a pre-registered DOI, please be prepared to share the reviewer URL associated with your data deposit if requested by reviewers. Where one or more datasets are associated with an article, these are not formally peer-reviewed as part of the journal's submission process. It is the author's responsibility to ensure the data's accuracy. Any errors in the data are solely the responsibility of the dataset producer(s).
Note: Since submissions are double-blind reviewed, the main text file should not contain identifying author information. As the data availability statement could reveal your identity, we recommend removing it from the anonymized manuscript version. Exceptions to this policy are made in rare cases where non-identifiable data cannot be shared due to its proprietary nature or participant privacy concerns. Exceptions and data access restrictions are granted for reasons related to human privacy protection, biosafety, and/or respect for terms of use for data obtained under third-party licenses. Confidential data, e.g., human or patient data, must always be anonymized, or permission to share must be obtained beforehand. Authors should seek advice from their institution's/university's ethics committee if in doubt. Authors must have a data availability statement, including a link to the repository used, for publication alongside their article. Examples are provided below.

Data Availability Statement Examples:

  1. The data associated with this article are available in the Open Science Framework at [URL].
  2. The data supporting this study's findings are openly available in [Repository Name] at http://doi.org/[doi], reference number [Number].
  3. The data supporting this study's findings are openly available in [Repository Name] at [URL], reference number [Number].
  4. The data supporting this study's findings are available upon request.

Declaration on Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in Writing

Where authors use generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process, these should only be used to improve readability and language. The use of AI technology must be accompanied by human supervision and control. Authors must carefully review and edit the results, as AI can generate seemingly credible outputs that may be incorrect, incomplete, or biased. AI and AI-assisted technologies should not be listed as an author or co-author. Authorship entails responsibilities and tasks that are exclusively attributed to and performed by humans. Authors must disclose their use of AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process by following the provided guidelines. A statement confirming this use will appear in the published article. It is essential to understand that authors are ultimately responsible and accountable for their article's content.

Guidelines for Disclosure:
Authors must disclose the use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process in the final version of their manuscript by adding a statement at the end of the manuscript text file, before the reference list. This statement should be placed in a new section entitled "Declaration on Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in Writing."

Declaration Example: "During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [Name of Tool/Service] in order to [Reason]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the publication."
This declaration does not apply to the use of auxiliary tools for checking grammar, spelling, references, etc. If there is nothing to disclose, no declaration needs to be added.

The names and email addresses entered on this journal's website will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

Adab-e Arabi has strict policies regarding scientific and academic integrity and independence. Therefore, the journal does not accept any advertisements—print, digital, or promotional content—from commercial institutions, companies, or any third-party organizations. This policy ensures all published content is free from commercial influence and is evaluated solely based on academic merit, scientific credibility, and relevance to the journal's subject field. The absence of advertisements also contributes to the transparency and reliability of the research published in the journal. By maintaining this clear policy separating scientific content from commercial interests, the journal adheres to the highest standards of scientific publishing and maintains the trust of authors, readers, and the broader academic community.
